I-80 Speedway at Nebraska Raceway Park is hosting a pair of major events on Sunday, July 12 and Monday, July 13 that will certainly be part of the season’s highlight reel.
The facility’s .400-mile clay oval will feature a visit from one of the region’s favorite sons, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Carl Edwards on Sunday evening, July 12. On Monday evening, July 13, the track hosts a taping of MTV’s “Nitro Circus,” which will star Travis Pastrana. Both events have drawn huge fan anticipation.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The NASCAR Camping World Series East will make the first of two appearances in Connecticut in 2009 for the Pepsi Full Fender Frenzy 100 at Thompson International Speedway on Saturday, July 11.

Jacques Villeneuve (No. 7 Jacombs Racing Ford), the 1995 Indy 500 winner and 1997 Formula 1 world champion, will go short-rack racing in the Tide 250 at Quebec's Autodrome St. Eustache and make his NASCAR Canadian Tire Series debut in the process.

With the fall of the checkered flag at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Series officially cleared the halfway hurdle. With six races down and five remaining, the ‘it’s too early to think about points’ cliché can go right out the window as the field of challengers becomes more defined.

For the second year in a row, and just the sixth time overall, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will head to Spencer Speedway on Saturday, July 11 in Williamson, N.Y., for the Spencer Speedway 155.
The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour first ran at Spencer in the Tour's inaugural season of 1985, a race won by George Kent. Matt Hirschman reached Victory Lane at Spencer last year in the first race at the flat half-mile oval in more than a decade.

IRWINDALE, Calif. – There’s no place like home for Jason Bowles. The NASCAR Camping World Series West driver scored his third consecutive win on his home track of Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on Saturday night.
Bowles, who won two series races at the half-mile track last year, led 132 of 200 laps en route to victory in the King Taco 200 before a Fourth of July capacity crowd. The win propelled him into the lead in the championship standings.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR announced today that its premier short-track racing showcase, the 2010 NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown, will be run Jan. 29-30 at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (Calif.).
The seventh running of the event, which brings together the top racers from across North America for the ”Daytona 500 of short-track racing,” will be highlighted by the 225-lap NASCAR Camping World Series all-star race.

ASHEBORO, N.C. – George Brunnhoelzl III avoided a spinning race leader L.W. Miller on lap 113 and took the lead for good on lap 119 en route to winning the Firecracker 150 Friday night at Caraway Speedway.
It was the second career NASCAR Whelen Soutrhern Modified Tour win for the third-generation driver and first since last season at Lanier National Speedway.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Announced Thursday, 25 figures that have shaped the history of NASCAR racing have been nominated for the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Among that select group are three competitors that earned fame in NASCAR’s Modified division.
During the 2008 season NASCAR celebrated 60 Years of Modified Champions. On Thursday, a trio of those championship competitors – Bobby Allison, Red Byron and Richie Evans – were among the 25 distinguished individuals on the ballot for induction in the first NASCAR Hall of Fame class in 2010.
