Beech Ridge Motor Speedway is a third- mile aspahlt oval in Scarborough, Maine that inherited its name from the large weeping beech willow trees surrounding the area. The speedway has a unique, long- standing tradition of giving the winning drivers handmade checkered flags as a keepsake of their victory.

• Beech Ridge opened on May 20, 1949.
• The facility has been in the Cusack family since 1970.
• Became a NASCAR sanctioned track in 1995.
• The Beech Ridge checkered flags have always been handmade, and more than 4,000 flags have been awarded to race winners.
