Carteret Track Facts

June 12, 2017 - 6:01pm

Carteret County Speedway, opened in September 2015, is the vision of track owner Bobby Watson.  Watson was a renowned Go-Kart promoter and a racer before that. With a lot of help, which included consultation with “The Last American Hero”, racing legend Junior Johnson, the 4/10-mile track took over a decade to build but the dream came to life in the summer of 2015.

Carteret County Speedway is more than just a racetrack.  For racers and fans, it’s a racing paradise.  Located just a few miles away from Emerald Isle, North Carolina, the track is also a museum of racing history with memorabilia collected over decades surrounding the speedway.
