LOUDON, N.H. -- Darrell Wallace Jr. earned his second career 21 Means 21 Pole Award Presented by Coors Light with a record run at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Thursday in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East qualifying for the New Hampshire 125.

The 17-year-old Mobile, Ala., driver posted a lap of 29.849 seconds (127.602 mph) around the 1.058-mile oval. He broke the mark set last September by Brett Moffitt of 29.863 (127.542).

Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Mass., a three-time winner at his home track, qualified second at 29.905 (127.363). Moffitt was third quick at 29.953 (127.159).

Moffitt and Wallace enter the race trailing points leader Max Gresham by 65 and 105 points, respectively, entering the second-to-last event of the season. Gresham won at New Hampshire in July and qualified fourth Friday.

Sergio Peña rounded out the top five in qualifying. Rookies Corey LaJoie, Daniel Suárez and Brandon McReynolds followed, with Matt DiBenedetto ninth and rookie Dylan Presnell 10th.

The New Hampshire 125 is scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m.
