NASCAR and its partners provide funding for scholarships to institutions of higher education Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic Serving Institutions to nurture diverse talent and raise the sports visibility. Contributions have been made to United Negro College Fund, the Hispanic Association of College & Universities and the DeVos Sports Business Management Program at the University of Central Florida.
Scholarship of the Month - NASCAR – Black History Month Award
The NASCAR- Black History Month Award will provide three merit-based scholarships: (1) $10,000 award and (2) $4,000 awards to undergraduate/graduate students.
The eligible candidates must be classified within one of the undergraduate classifications or enrolled in the targeted Master's degree programs.
This program will provide the selected recipients with scholarship awards during the 2016-17 year.
Candidates must be enrolled full-time at a four-year college or university and must have a major in Business-related disciplines, Communications, Engineering, Information Technology or Public Relations
Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Applicants must submit a video – 90 seconds in length highlighting notable African American contributions and/or partnerships to/with NASCAR. For full award consideration, students must complete an application, and invite a reference to submit a recommendation online. Candidates should submit their application, a transcript, a resume and the required video.
