QUALIFYING: Labbe Edges Lacroix For Pole

Wetaskiwin, Alberta - Alex Labbe likes racing on ovals and it has shown this week during the annual western swing by the NASCAR Pinty's Series.

Labbe, who collected a win and third-place finish on Wednesday in Saksatoon, picked up where he left off by winning the E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award during qualifying for the Luxxur 300 at Edmonton International Raceway Saturday night.

PRACTICE: Lacroix Leads Field At Edmonton

Wetaskiwin, Alberta - One thing is for certain halfway through the 2017 season for the NASCAR Pinty's Series and that's Kevin Lacroix has been fast at every stop so far this season.

Lacroix, who enters this race with a slight two-point lead over Alex Labbe in the championship points standings, once again set fast time in practice for the Luxxur 300 at Edmonton International Raceway Saturday.

The NASCAR Next driver scored his first NASCAR Pinty's Series win at the Saskatoon track last year en route to his record-setting championship season one year ago. It appears he wants to keep making memories.

Labbe Outlasts Kennington In Overtime

SASKATOON, Sask. - It took everything Alex Labbe had to hold off D.J. Kennington to score his second NASCAR Pinty's Series win of the season in Race No. 1 of the Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 100s at Wyant Group Raceway on Wednesday. 

Labbe was able to make the pass around Kennington on Lap 75 and then hold the two-time series champion off in overtime to pick up the win in the first doubleheader for Canada's national stock car championship.

QUALIFYING: Lacroix Edges Labbe For Pole

SASKATOON, Sask. - Kevin Lacroix is having a pretty good day so far at Wyant Group Raceway.

After leading the field of 20 cars throughout practice earlier in the day, he backed it up by winning his fourth career E3 Sprak Plugs Pole Award during qualifying for race #1 of the Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 100s tonight in Saskatoon.

Lacroix was able to finish just .020 seconds ahead of Alex Labbe to win his second pole award on an oval track. Lacroix finished with a fast time of 14.645 seconds (81.857 mph) to put him on the top spot.

SASKATOON, Sask. - Kevin Lacroix is just fast no matter where he races this season.

The NASCAR Pinty's Series championship points leader enters the Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 100s at Wyant Group Raceway winner of all three races on road courses this season and now he's showing everyone he's also fast on oval tracks too.

The St. Eustache, Quebec, driver paced the field with a fast lap time of  14.713 seconds (81.479 mph) during the one-hour practice session around the third-mile oval.

This year, Wyant Group Raceway will be the first stop on the trip west and it’ll also be the first time in the history of the series that it will conduct a doubleheader on the same night.
