With the grand opening of The New Stockton 99 Speedway at the beginning of the 2009 season, NASCAR racing returned to Stockton, Calif. Carol and Tony Noceti brought the historic 1/4-mile facility back to life after a two-year hiatus. The track had closed at the end of the 2006 season to be part of a land development. When that development fell through, the Nocetis stepped in to save the track and bring racing back to San Joaquin County.
