TED CHRISTOPHER LEADS EVERY LAP IN WINNING THE CAPITAL BANK 150, MARKING THE THIRD TIME THE 2008 NASCAR WHELEN MODIFIED TOUR CHAMPION HAS WON THE SEASON OPENER OF THE NASCAR WHELEN SOUTHERN MODIFIED TOUR SCHEDULE. ROWAN PENNINK, GEORGE BRUNNHOELZL, BURT MYERS AND ERICK RUDOLPH ROUND OUT THE TOP 5

Lap 143 -- Ronnie Silk wiggles off Turn 2 and slows on backstretch, losing several spots 

Lap 140 -- Ted Christopher opens up a 7-10 car lead, followed by Rowan Pennink, George Brunnhoelzl, Burt Myers, Ronnie Silk, Brandon Ward, Erick Rudolph, J.R. Bertucchio and L.W. Miller in single-file.

Lap 81 -- Leaders are free of traffic for a short stretch, with Ted Christopher still out front. George Brunnhoelzl has settled into second, followed by Ronnie Silk, Jamie Tomaino, Burt Myers, Rowan Pennink, Frank Fleming, and Brandon Ward 

Lap 76 -- Leaders have reached lapped traffic, with Ted Christopher about four car lengths ahead of second-place George Brunnhoelzl 

Lap 75 -- George Brunnhoelzl is now in second, followed by Ronnie Silk and Jamie Tomaino 

Lap 72 -- George Brunnhoelzl looks around Ronnie Silk and tries to make the pass on the backstretch dogleg 

Lap 69 -- George Brunnhoelzl wiggles off Turn 4 and loses momentum on his challenge for second, but stays in third

Lap 67 -- Ronnie Silk feeling the heat from George Brunnhoelzl for second 

Lap 63 -- George Brunnhoelzl goes underneath Burt Myers for third, and Jamie Tomaino follows as Burt Myers falls back to fifth.

Lap 61 -- Tim Brown is 10th and L.W. Miller is 11th. 

Lap 57 -- Ted Christopher, Ronnie Silk, Burt Myers, George Brunnhoelzl, and Jamie Tomaino put some distance on the sixth-place car of Rowan Pennink 

Lap 54 -- George Brunnhoelzl makes the pass for fourth. 

Lap 52 -- The field has stretched out, with Ted Christopher a half lap behind the last-place car 

Lap 50 -- Ted Christopher leads at the 1/3 mark 

Lap 47 -- Top 10 run single file and pull away from 11th 

Lap 45 -- GREEN: Double-file restart with Ted Christopher getting another jump on Ronnie Silk 

Lap 44 -- One to go to green 

Lap 41 -- In the one lap completed prior to the previous yellow flag, Jamie Tomaino was able to pass several cars going through Turns 3 and 4.

Lap 30 -- Ted Christopher, Ronnie Silk, Burt Myers, Rowan Pennink, Frank Fleming are the top five. 

Lap 27 -- Tim Brown continues to fall back, losing three more spots to ninth. 

Lap 24 -- George Brunnhoelzl continues to pass on the outside, moving past Tim Brown for sixth. 

Lap 22 -- Ronnike Silk goes underneath Burt Myers for second. 

Lap 20 -- Andy Seuss is out of the race due to a broken rocker arm 

Lap 18 -- The second pack, led by John Smith, has closed the gap on the top six cars. 

Lap 14 -- Ted Christopher has settled into a rhythm at the front of the field.

Lap 12 -- No change among the leaders. John Smith in seventh leads the second pack of cars. 

Lap 10 -- George Brunnhoelzl is up to 11th 

Lap 7 -- Burt Myers closes in on Ted Christopher, followed by Ronnie Silk. Rowan Pennink, Frank Fleming and Tim Brown round out the break away string of cars. 

Lap 4 -- Fourth-place car of Andy Seuss slows suddenly on the front stretch. He's able to make it around to the backstretch and onto pit road 

Lap 3 --  Burt Myers settles into second, followed by Ronnie Silk.  

Lap 1 -- Ted Christopher takes the lead out of Turn 2 and quickly opens up the advantage 

7:40 p.m. -- GREEN FLAG ON THE 2009 SEASON 

7:39 p.m. -- One to go. 

7:38 p.m. -- Three laps to go to green. Burt Myers and Ted Christopher lead the field. 

7:37 p.m. -- Cars have fired up and rolled off the grid. 

7:30 p.m. -- Driver introductions have begun. 

7:29 p.m. -- National anthem 

7:06 p.m. -- As fans exit the track following the autograph session, George Brunnhoelzl III finally makes it on to the track with his Modified after his team worked feaverishly to get the motor changed for the feature. Brunnhoelzl will start in the 20th position. 

6:14 p.m. -- Top six qualifiers redrew for starting position. Burt Myers remains on the pole, followed by Ted Christopher, Ronnie Silk and Rowan Pennink. 

5:51 p.m. -- Burt Myers extends his NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour record with his 18th Coors Light Pole Award.  (COMPLETE QUALIFYING RESULTS HERE)

5:49 p.m. -- Burt Myers takes over the pole at 15.181 (118.569).

5:38 p.m. -- Ronnie Silk knocks Ted Christopher off the pole with a 15.226 (118.219) lap. 

5:30 p.m. -- Qualifying has begin. Ted Christopher, second out, is on the provisional pole at 15.231 (118.180) 

3:15 p.m. -- Final NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour practice has concluded. Ted Christopher posted the fastest time of the two sessions, followed by Rowan Pennink and L.W. Miller. 2:46 p.m. -- Second practice has begun for the Tour. 

2 p.m. -- First practice has concluded. Rowan Pennink posted the fastest time, followed by Burt Myers and Ted Christopher. 

1 p.m. ET -- The first practice session of the 2009 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour season is underway.
