BRASELTON, Ga. - Ted Christopher, who has won the first two NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour races he has entered, has started strong his his quest to make it three in a row. Christopher posted the top time in the one hour, 15-minute practice session Saturday at Lanier National Speedway. Christopher's No. 00 Sherm's Towing Chervolet lapped the .375-mile oval in 13.552 seconds for an average speed of 99.616.

Tim Brown (No. 83 Hayes Jewelers/K Food Stores Chevrolet) was second at 13.564 (99.528), followed by Jason Myers (No. 4 Capital Bank/Moorefield & Trantham Enterprises Ford) at 13.593 (99.316).

Defending race winner George Brunnhoelzl III was fourth quick, followed by Brian Loftin.

Qualifying is slated for 5:45 p.m., with the green flag for the Lanier 150 set to fly at 9 p.m.
