CHECKERED FLAG: Ted Christopher beats Todd Szegedy to the finish line by 1.125 seconds to earn his 33rd career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victory. This is also his second in as many races in 2009, his ninth overall at Stafford and his fourth in a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Spring Sizzler race. 

Lap 195 -- With five laps to go, Ted Christopher is pulling away from the field. 

Lap 192 -- GREEN FLAG: Ted Christopher maintains the lead and has a 0.3-second lead on Todd Szegedy as the cars get back to the start/finish line. 

Lap 190 -- A single file restart inside 10 laps to go will see Ted Christopher, Todd Szegedey, Ryan Preece, Mike Stefanik and Chris Pasteryak among the contenders for the Spring Sizzler trophy. 

Lap 188 -- CAUTION NO. 10: Matt Hirschman gets turned between Turns 3 and 4 by Donny Lia and spins into the infield. 

Lap 183 -- Ted Christopher and Todd Szegedy swap the lead down the frontstretch and into Turn 1. Christopher emerges on the backstretch in front. 

Lap 182 -- GREEN FLAG: Ted Christopher beats Todd Szegedy to the line and resumes the lead. 

Lap 180 --Joe Hartmann is pronounced out with a blown engine. 

Lap 179 -- As the free pass car, Ken Heagy becomes the 21st car on the lead lap. 

Lap 177 - CAUTION NO. 9: Running third at the time, Rowan Pennink appeared to make contact with left rear of second place Ryan Preece and Pennink shot into the wall on the backstretch. His car suffered heavy damage to the right front and his car is being towed off.

Lap 175 -- GREEN FLAG: Mike Stefanik beats Todd Szegedy to the line but Szegedy regains the lead on the backstretch. 

Lap 173 --Twenty two cars remain on the lead lap.

Lap 169 -- Doug Coby has been pronounced out of the race with a blown engine. 

Lap 165 -- Joe Hartmann has fallen off the pace and enters pit road. 

Lap 163 -- Ted Christopher has moved up to fifth, but is 4.8 seconds behind leader Todd Szegedy. 

Lap 159 -- Doug Coby falls off the pace and has entered pit road. 

Lap 154 -- Erick Rudolph is pronounced out due to a damaged front suspension. 

Lap 148 -- Todd Szegedy moves into the lead on the backstretch. 

Lap 145 -- GREEN FLAG: Mike Stefanik got a head start on the field and leads Todd Szegedy at the line. 

Lap 143 -- Twenty three cars remain on the lead lap. After the cut tire and spin through the grass, Ted Christopher is now scored in 13th. 

Lap 141 -- CAUTION NO. 7: Richard Savary spins between Turns 3 and 4. Ed Flemke Jr. will be the free pass car.

Lap 138 -- Doug Coby gets under Glen Reen for sixth and challenges Ron Silk for a spot in the top five. 

Lap 134 -- GREEN FLAG: Toddy Szegedy takes his first lead of the day as he beats Mike Stefanik to the line, but Stefanik regains the lead by the time the cars reach the start/finish line. 

Lap 133 -- Jamie Tomaino and Matt Hirschman are in the top 10 for the first time today.

Lap 121 -- Race leader Ted Christopher enters pit road with a reported flat left rear tire. Mike Stefanik resumes the lead under caution. 

Lap 118 -- [PENALTY: Bobby Grigas to the tail end of the longest line for running over equipment on pit road.

Lap 100 -- Ted Christopher moves back out in front of Rowan Pennink as the race reaches its halfway point.

Lap 94 -- After pitting, Jimmy Blewett stalled on the backstretch and required a push.

Lap 93 -- Nearly every lead lap car enters pit road with the notable exception of Rowan Pennink, who assumes the lead. Ted Christopher will maintain the lead as he is first off pit road and Mike Stefanik moves up to second with a quick pit stop. 

Lap 90 -- CAUTION NO. 4: Jake Marosz spins on the frontstretch. Eric Beers will be the free pass car. 

Lap 85 -- Donny Lia makes an unsuccessful bid to get under Mike Stefanik for fifth place, but keeps the pressure on.

Lap 79 -- Ted Christopher is having little trouble navigating through lap traffic as he maintains a 1.5 second lead. 

Lap 75 -- Twenty seven cars remain on the lead lap. 

Lap 70 -- Ted Christopher is building on a 1.5 second lead on Ryan Preece. 

Lap 65 -- Ryan Preece and Rowan Pennink have moved past Eric Berndt to take over second and third. 

Lap 64 -- Bobby Grigas III, who went to the back of the starting field of 33 cars due to an engine change, is up to 18th. 

Lap 60 -- Ted Christopher has opened up a half-second lead on second place Eric Berndt, who now has a rearview full of Ryan Preece. 

Lap 55 -- The best racing on the track at the moment features Doug Coby, Jimmy Blewett and Ron Silk battling for positions 8-10. 

Lap 53 -- Race leader Ted Christopher has just caught the tail end of the field and put Jake Marosz a lap down. 

Lap 50 -- The top 10 included: Ted Christopher, Eric Berndt, Ryan Preece, Mike Stefanik, Rowan Pennink, Todd Szegedy, Donny Lia, jimmy Blewett, Doug Coby and Ron Silk. 

Lap 46 -- Ryan Preece - in third place - is a full second behind leaders Ted Christopher and Eric Berndt. 

Lap 43 -- Doug Coby and Ron Silk get past Carl Pasteryak to move into the top 10. 

Lap 37 -- Eric Berndt gets past Ryan Preece for second as Berndt and Ted Christopher start to pull away. 

Lap 36 -- GREEN FLAG: Ted Christopher gets a jump on Ryan Preece and pull out to a car length lead.

Lap 32 -- CAUTION NO. 3: Tom Abele Jr. spins on th  backstretch and goes behind the wall with damage to the right front. 

Lap 31 -- GREEN FLAG: Ted Christopher leads by a nose over Ryan  Preece. 

Lap 28 -- The car of Renee Dupuis has been taken off the track by wrecker with heavy front end damage. 

Lap 26 -- Eric Beers, Glenn Tyler, Wade Cole, Tommy Farrell III, Ken Heagy and Jamie Tomaino go to pit road. 

Lap 25 -- PENALTY: Ed Flemke Jr. to the tail end of the longest line for pitting too soon.

Lap 21 -- The top eight cars have started to pull away from the rest of the field. 

Lap 15 -- Ted Christopher remains out front with Ryan Preece, Mike Stefanik, Eric Berndt, Todd Szegedy, Rowan Pennink, Donny Lia, Christ Pasteryak, Jimmy Blewett and Glen Reen rounding out the top 10. 

Lap 10 -- Ted Christopher moves back to the front of the pack. 

Lap 9 -- GREEN FLAG: Ryan Preece leads at the line. 

Lap 4 -- CAUTION NO. 1: Eric Beers, Reggie Ruggiero and Erick Rudolph are involved in a wreck in Turn 4. Ruggiero has lost his right front wheel, Rudolph's right front is dangling by the tethers and Beers pitted.  

Lap 3 -- Ted Christopher gets a bottom shot on Ryan Preece in Turn 3 to take the lead. 

GREEN FLAGG -- Ryan Preece leads at the line. 

2:45 p.m. -- Ryan Preece leads the field of 33 cars off pit road for the first of three warm-up laps.

2:40 p.m. -- Driver introductions have completed. The competitors are strapping in. 

2:25 p.m. -- The starting lineup is indexed on the quarter-mile track on the front stretch and introductions are about to commence. 

1:55 p.m. -- The SK Modified race has concluded with Richie Pallai Jr. in Victory Lane. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour regulars Ted Christopher and Jimmy Blewett finished second and third, respectively, in the SK race. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is slated to take the green flag at approximately 2:30 p.m.

1 p.m. -- The Stafford SK Modified division of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series has taken the green flag. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour 200-lap race will begin upon the conclusion of the SK Modified 40-lap green flag race. 

12:20 p.m. -- The Tech-Net Spring Sizzler presented by CARQUEST pre-race has begun. 

12 p.m. -- The pit party has wrapped up and pre-race ceremonies are about to get underway. 

Sunday, 11 a.m. ET -- The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour drivers along with the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competitors are on the track for the CARQUEST Belts & Hose Pit Party & Autograph Session.

Saturday Recap
2:10 p.m. --
Ted Christopher had earned his second Coors Light Pole Award in a row, the 20th of his career overall and his third at Stafford. His second lap of 18.150 seconds equates to 99.174 mph. Matt Hirschman maintains the Stafford qualifying record of 18.009 seconds (99.950 mph) set at the 2007 Spring Sizzler. 

2:07 p.m. -- Both of Ted Chistopher's laps are faster than any previously turned. His second, 18.150 seconds, puts him on the provisional pole. 

2:04 p.m. -- Eric Berndt moves to the top of the board with a time of 18.378, .001 seconds faster than Lia, who was gunning for his sevent career pole at Stafford. 

2:00 p.m. -- Donny Lia's first lap is now the fastest of the day at 18.379 seconds. Eleven drivers remain in qualifying. 

1:55 p.m. -- Rowan Pennink, the 19th car to take time, moves Jimmy Blewett off the pole with a lap of 18.420 seconds. 

1:48 p.m. -- Ten cars have taken time and Jimmy Blewett is on the provisional pole with a time of 18.461 seconds. 

1:40 p.m. -- The scuff session has concluded and time trials are underway. Glenn Tyler is the first car to take time. 

1:27 p.m. -- The tire scuff session has begun in advance of time trials. 

11:30 a.m. -- NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice has concluded. Jimmy Blewett was fastest in the 90-minute session at 18.058 seconds (99.679 mph) followed closely by Doug Coby at 18.066 (99.635). Rounding out the five fastest cars in morning practice were Reggie Ruggiero (18.109/99.388), Ted Christopher (18.109/99.388) and Chris Pasteryak (18.123/99.321).

11:05 a.m. -- Ted Christopher and Reggie Ruggiero are tied for the fastest lap recorded so far at 18.109. Twenty five minutes remain in practice.  

10:30 a.m. -- Thirty four cars have practiced. Doug Coby has turned the best lap so far at 18.213 seconds. 

10:03 a.m. -- NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice is now open. Mike Stefanik, Reggie Ruggiero, Glenn Tyler and Eric Goodale are the first to take the track.

10 a.m. ET -- There are 36 cars in the garage. Skies are sunny and clear and the temperature is 60 degrees.
