Quiroga continues SLP dominance

SAN LUIS POTOSI, Mexico – Germán Quiroga continued his domination at San Luis Potosi, picking up his second NASCAR Mexico Series victory of the season Sunday.

Quiroga drove the No. 2 Telcel-FedEx to a third straight victory at Autódromo Potosina before a crowd of more than 9,000. In the process, Quiroga extended his series points lead to 88 over Carlos Pardo and 93 over Carlos Peralta.

Quiroga’s teammate Rubén Rovelo finished second, followed by José Luis Ramírez. Ramírez recorded his first top-three finish in the NASCAR Mexico Series. Homero Richards and Pardo rounded out the top five.

Quiroga started on the pole after Saturday’s qualifying was rained out.

The series will return to San Luis Potosi in August, and will next race June 14 at Puebla.
