

Lia Captures New England 100
Donny Lia earned his 12th career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victory Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Saturday afternoon.
In a thrilling finish that saw a host of lead changes in the closing laps, Ted Christopher made contact with Todd Szegedy while battling for the lead coming out of Turn 4 on the checkered flag approach. Lia, running in third at the time, was the beneficiary as he crossed the line first to earn his second win at the Magic Mile.
Ed Flemke Jr., Ron Silk, Ted Christopher, and Rowan Pennink rounded out the top five finishers.

8:50 p.m. -- Tour practice is complete. Todd Szegedy finished as the fastest car in the 40-minute session at 130.371 mph. Doug Coby, Lia, Christopher and Bobby Grigass III were the five fastest cars. PRACTICE TIMES
8:30 a.m. -- Fifteen minutes into practice, Ted Christopher and Donny Lia are tied atop the speed charts with fast laps of 128.832 mph.
8:15 a.m. -- Cars are on the track for practice.
SATURDAY, 8 a.m. -- The garage is open and ready for business. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will run its final practice at 8:15-8:50 a.m. The drivers meeting is slated for 9:50 a.m., and green flag for the New England 100 is set for 1 p.m.
FRIDAY, 11:30 a.m. -- The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour does not have any at-track activity scheduled for Friday. Garage opens Saturday at 6:30 a.m. Drivers meeting is scheduled for 9:50 a.m., and the New England 100 is slated to take the green at 1 p.m.

5:36 p.m. -- Doug Coby, the next-to-last car to take time, laid down a lap of 30.003 seconds (126.947 mph) for the provisional pole.
5:32 p.m. -- With five cars remaining, the top five includes: Szegedy, Christopher, Lia, Pennink and Newman.
5:26 p.m. -- Christopher's streak for consecutive poles is over. Todd Szegedy just laid down the fastest lap of the day at 30.031 seconds (126.939 mph).
5:25 p.m. -- Ryan Newman was the 29th car to go out and turned in a fast lap of 30.160 (126.286 mph) for the fourth-best time. The top five is now: Christopher, Lia, Pennink, Newman and Kevin Goodale.
5:20 p.m. -- Twenty-four cars have qualified. The top five qualifiers currently consists of Christopher, Lia, Rowan Pennink, Stefanik and Beers.
5:10 p.m. -- Ted Christopher, the 17th car to take time, moved to the top of the board with a fast lap of 30.025 seconds (126.854 mph). He has earned the three previous Coors Light Pole Awards this year.
5:04 p.m. -- Twelve cars have taken time. The top qualifiers so far are Lia, Mike Stefanik, Kahne, Jimmy Blewett and Jamie Tomaino.
5 p.m. -- Donny Lia blows past Kahne with a fast lap of 30.039 seconds (126.795 mph) for the provisional pole.
4:58 p.m. -- With seven cars in the books, Kasey Kahne has posted the fastest lap at 30.445 seconds (125.351 mph).
4:47 p.m. -- The tire scuff session has concluded and time trials are set to begin. Wade Cole will be the first car out.
4:35 p.m. -- Tire scuff has begun.
2:45 p.m. -- Practice is complete. Beers turned the fast lap of the session at 128.950 mph. Lia (128.824), Szegedy (128.684), Rowan Pennink (128.628) and Ted Christopher (128.628) rounded out the top five fastest cars. Kahne was eighth fastest at 127.919 mph and Newman came in 127.206, 19th fastest.
2:30 p.m. -- Jimmy Blewett made contact with the wall between Turns 3 and 4. The damage appears to be limited to a bent right rear nerf bar. Lia has moved to the top of the board with a fast lap of 128.824 mph.
2:10 p.m. -- Stefanik is still atop the board, but has turned in a faster lap of 127.971 mph. Todd Szegedy is second fastest at 127.924, followed by Donny Lia (127.868), Eric Beers (127.825) and Woody Pitkat (127.705).
1:40 p.m. -- Thirty minutes into practice, Mike Stefanik has moved to the top of the speed charts at 126.723 mph. Erick Rudolph, Andy Seuss, Kasey Kahne and Ron Silk round out the top five fastest.
1:30 p.m. -- Ryan Newman is atop the boards with a fast lap of 124.891 mph. Of the 39 entires, 19 have practiced.
1:20 p.m. -- Practice is underway with Rob Fuller, Ed Flemke Jr., Tommy Farrell III, Glenn Tyler, Tim Arre, Eric Goodale and Kevin Goodale the first to take to the track.
11:30 a.m. -- Thirty-nine cars are on the ground. Joe Hartmann and Kenny Horton have withdrawn from the original entry list.
Thursday, 7:30 a.m. -- The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour garage is open.
