Practice: Hossfeld Leads The Way

LOUDON, N.H. - Driving the car that Donny Lia put in Victory Lane last June at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Chuck Hossfeld led the speed charts in Saturday morning's practice for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. The New England 100 is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Hossfeld's No. 4 Mystic Missile Dodge has a fast lap of 29.44 seconds/129.366 mph around the 1.058-mile oval. Eric Beers (No. 46 Reynolds Auto Wrecking Chevrolet) was second at 29.472/129.235, followed by Ted Christopher (No. 36 Al-Lee Installations Chevrolet) at 29.532/128.972. Christopher won four straight NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races at the 'Magic Mile' between 2004-05.

Jimmy Blewett and Todd Szegedy were fourth and fifth. Szegedy won the September race at New Hampshire last year.
