Hossfeld, Hirschman Take Heat Wins

WILLIAMSON, N.Y. - Matt Hirschman and point lead Chuck Hossfeld won the 25-lap qualifying heat features Saturday afternoon for the Mason Farms 150 at Spencer Speedway.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race is scheduled to take the green at 10 p.m.

Hossfeld (No. 4 Mystic Missile Dodge) won the first heat by .577 seconds over runner-up Eric Beers. Jan Leaty was third, followed by Kevin Goodale and Bobby Grigas III. Leaty is making his first Tour start since 2004.

In the second heat, Hirshman beat Mike Stefanik to the line by .693 seconds. Ted Christopher, Ronnie Silk and Jimmy Blewett were third through fifth, respectively.
