QUALIFYING: Ramírez Looks To Repeat History

Grabs First Pole Award of 2013

TUXTLA GUTIÉRREZ, Mexico – The NASCAR Toyota Series’ return weekend to the Súper Óvalo Chiapas got its first protagonist of the weekend as José Luis Ramírez captured his first pole award of the season for the RedCo 240. 

Ramirez put in a time of 25.534 seconds (105.741 mph) around the .75-mile oval track. His first career pole and victory came at this track in 2010. 

Antonio Pérez qualified second at 25.550 seconds (105.675 mph) and Carlos Contreras was third at 25.949 seconds (104.050 mph). Rodrigo Peralta and Carlos Peralta qualified fourth and fifth respectively, followed by Hugo Oliveras, Abraham Calderón, Javier Fernández, Javier Fernández and Rubén García Sr. 

The RedCo 240 is scheduled for a 12:45 p.m. CT start.
