QUALIFYING: Coby On Point at Langley

Defending Champion Leads Field to Green in Langley Debut

HAMPTON, Va. – Doug Coby continued to set the pace at Virginia's Langley Speedway, this time during qualifying for the City of Hampton 150.

He secured the Coors Light Pole Award with a 15.495 lap on Saturday evening. The four-time champion, was fastest in practice earlier in the day in pursuit of his first win of 2017 in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. 

Eric Goodale, a three-time winner in the Whelen Modified Tour, qualified second for Saturday night’s race with a 15.575 second lap. Goodale, who will start alongside Coby.

Timmy Solomito qualified third with a 15.603 second lap while Rob Summers (15.605 seconds) qualified fourth and Rowan Pennick (15.628) qualified fifth.  Danny Bohn, Dave Sapienza, George Brunnhoelzl, Justin Bonsignore and Max Zachem rounded out the top-10.

The City of Hampton 150 will get underway around 8:30 p.m. at the .396-mile Langley Speedway oval in Hampton, Virginia.
